Construction Supervisor

Position Description:

Coordinates & supervises the work of volunteers

Essential position tasks and responsibilities:

Assess homes to be repaired.
Develop work orders.
Contact homeowners to coordinate work on homes.
Take volunteer teams to jobsite and get each team started on its job.
Provide volunteers with training in the execution of construction-related tasks.
Have equipment and supplies on each job site in a timely manner.
Conduct safety training and ensure that safety procedures are followed.
Responsible for the inventory of tools and equipment assigned to the site.
Provide the PDA village manager with addresses of worksites.
Keep statistics of sites worked and track work performed at each site.
Provide PDA with such information as necessary.

Essential skills:

Strong construction or building background, comfortable in camping environments, group leadership experience, diplomacy, clean driving record, prior volunteer work (preferably in the Gulf), sensitivity to other cultures, computer skills, good physical health, availability for 2-month minimum (preferably 3-6 months), patience and flexibility.
