Disaster Action Team Member (DAT Member) / Community, Crisis Support, Emergency & Safety

DAT Members will respond with others from the DAT to single or multiple family disasters (i.e. fires, storm damage, etc) in order to meet the emergency needs of victims. They may also provide canteen services to first-responders working at the disaster site.

Skills

~Be available to respond any time of day or night during a scheduled on-call period
~Have a valid driver’s license
~Great interpersonal skills
~Be able to make confident decisions in difficult situations
~Resident of St. Charles or St. John Parishes

Description
The ERV Team will consist of at least two people who will safely and effectively use the ERV and its equipment to deliver Red Cross services in a community affected by disaster. The ERV Team will be involved in the mass distribution of food and other Red Cross goods to victims of disaster where they are located.

~Satisfactory DMV report
~Availability to respond at any given time
~Availability for regional travel
~Resident of St. Charles or St. John Parishes
~All American Red Cross Volunteers undergo a background check before serving.
