What do volunteers do at the Food Bank?
Food Sorting -You can support the heart of our operation by ensuring that donated food is sorted, cleaned, packed and ready for member agencies when they visit the Food Bank. Individual & Group Friendly
Bagging and Boxing - Each month Food Bank volunteers prepare 7,000 food boxes, 1,200 Senior Brown Bags, and 1,500 emergency food bags for distribution. Group Friendly
WEEKEND PROJECTS
Volunteers are needed on weekends to participate in large-scale projects, like sorting or repacking food, as well as other activities.
All weekend projects take place at the SDFB Warehouse, 9850 Distribution Ave, 92121. Advance registration required. To sign up or for more information, please contact Tawny at sdfbvolunteer@neighborhoodhouse.org
