Haven Hills Teen Program

The Haven Hills Teen Program is dedicated to giving teens the tools they need to create healthy relationships in the face of the violence epidemic in our society. The Teen Program focuses on learning to value ourselves and healthy communication.

Additionally, the program encourages teens to be leaders in their communities in addressing the issues of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, teen relationship abuse, and violence. The students use art to express their feelings and participate in a support group to further explore these feelings. The group is for both boys and girls. For more information call (818) 887-7481.

These pictures are a result of a Windows Between Worlds project that allows the children in the shelter school to express their feelings through artwork. The students are asked to complete the sentence "The Monster in me is....." and the teacher gives them some samples of feelings - sad, conflicted, angry, happy, etc. This helps the children deal with some of the emotions they have.
