Weekday Food Sorting
Sort, screen, box and shelve donated food.
Individuals and groups are needed to help sort food into boxes that are distributed to the Food Bank’s partner agencies. Individual volunteers need to attend a 50 minute orientation, held at 1pm on Wednesdays. (Note: the orientation for August 29 has been cancelled.) Groups—corporate, business, church, youth or other—will receive a short orientation when they arrive. Call (510) 635-3663, ext. 308 to sign up.
Saturday Food Sorting (Selected Saturdays)
Sept. 8 & 22; Oct. 13 & 27; Dec. 1 & 15; Shifts: 9am – Noon and 1 – 4 pm
Boy Scout Food Drive Special Saturday and Sunday Food Sort:
Nov. 17 (1–4 pm, 4:30–7:30 pm) and Nov. 18 (9–11:30 am, noon–2:30 pm)
Volunteers needed to screen, sort, box and shelve donated food items, label cans and repackage donated food. Groups and individuals, and children age 10 and over accompanied by adults are welcome. Call (510) 635-3663 ext. 308 to sign up.
Pantry Program:
Through this program, eligible volunteers can receive a bag filled with 15 pounds of groceries if they work a 3 hour shift, with a maximum of three bags per week.

Eligibility: Income level and household size determine eligibility. Only one bag per household is allowed.
