Volunteers play a critical role in the work of the Food Bank. Hundreds of people regularly give their time performing a variety of tasks at our facility and off-site.

Below is a list of volunteer opportunities. If you’d like to volunteer, please complete the form below and then click the “Submit” button, or you can print the form and mail it to Jim Roessler, our Volunteer Coordinator, at 3320 Industrial Dr., Santa Rosa, CA 95403.

Be a Senior Gleaner: 55 or older who sort food on Tues. and/or Fri. from 8:00am to 11:30am.

Food Drives and Event Calendar 2007
Now thru 12/31/07 Macy’s “Thanks for Sharing” fundraiser: Help our community while doing your holiday shopping! Just enroll for a $25 fee at the Coddingtown or Santa Rosa Plaza store. You’ll receive a 10% rebate on purchases, plus a portion of the enrollment charge will be donated to the REFB. A thank you Rewards Card will be sent to participating customers.

10/27, 11/3, 11/10, 12/1, 12/8 REFB Volunteer Saturdays - Volunteers needed to bag produce, label, sort and box food from 8 a.m. to noon. Contact Jim Roessler, 523-7900, ext 23.

SEPT – OCT HIGH HOLY DAYS FOOD DRIVE - Local community synagogues host their own food drives from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur collecting thousands of pounds of food for the REFB. Contact Holly Silva, 523-7900, ext 27 to join the drive.

11/1/07 to 1/31/08 Annual Holiday Food & Funds Drive: Our biggest community-wide drive of the year! Help raise 200,000 pounds and $160,000 – host a drive, drop off food in our green barrels at Safeway, Longs, G&G, donate online at www.refb.org, hold a special event, volunteer! November/December “Fill’er Up Holiday Bags”: For the 11th year, The Press Democrat will distribute our popular holiday bag to residential subscribers to fill up on 11/13 Tuesday. Bags are available 11/1 – contact Holly Silva at 523-7900, ext 27 to place an order. Last year we received over 38,000 pounds of food and $50,000 from our bags – fill one up!

11/11 SN FLEET FEET “FEED THE HUNGRY RUN & WALK” - Fleet Feet Sports sponsors their 4th annual run and walk to raise funds to feed the hungry, starting and ending at Railroad Square Park on Wilson Street, Santa Rosa.
