Command & Control, Volunteer Coordination/Sign up Center

5/27/08:

Iowans interested in volunteering with the clean up at Parkersburg and New Hartford are asked to call the Iowa Concern Hotline at 1-800-447-1985. At the current time there are enough volunteers for the weekend. When additional help is needed, volunteers will be contacted.

Iowans who want to help should call the hotline before going up to Parkersburg. Volunteers that arrive without being requested can become another challenge for responders who are already taxed with other tasks.

Volunteers need to wear gloves, pants and protective shoes. Boots are preferred because of all the nails. Volunteers also need to be over the age of 14 because of the type of work required.
