Weeks of organizing and protests by incarcerated people and their loved ones forced Governor Jay Inslee to release 950 people. This is a victory—but it isn’t enough. Far more people are still vulnerable to the disease in prison, and the Washington State Department of Corrections is still punishing 18 prisoners for demanding the state protect the safety of incarcerated people. The pandemic doesn’t discriminate by sentencing offense and neither should Inslee. Let’s keep pushing until we #FreeThemAllWA
