hrec @ highlandercenter. org
We are a catalyst for grassroots organizing and movement building in Appalachia and the South. We work with people fighting for justice, equality and sustainability, supporting their efforts to take collective action to shape their own destiny.
Transformative Justice via a Social Solidarity Economy
We're exploring our economic and governance systems through a participatory, community-based process to create knowledge and share solutions that foster community, equity and healthy communities.
Movement Accompaniment + Support
We're supporting grassroots organizing and movement building from workshops and residencies on Popular Education, Political Education to Direction Action Trainings and Technical Assistance.
Incubate & Innovate Radical Work
We're building capacity for grassroots organizations through Strategic Partnership, Movement Anchorship and Fiscal Sponsorship.
Intergenerational Leadership
Our Seeds of Fire Program and Children's Justice Camp are promoting youth-centered, youth-led spaces, providing guidance, mentorship, political education and skill-based trainings that give room for young people to take the resources they need and work towards a just future.
