New Central Baptist Church (Samaritan's Purse, 2007 Storm Recovery GA HQ)

OLD NOTES from 2007 Storms:

Billy Graham Avangestic has a table at the ARC DRC with
applications and they can help people fill them out.
So people can apply for aid with the other groups (ARC,
FEMA, etc) and can also apply for assistance with
Samaritan's Purse.

Website:

Samaritans Purse was on the ground immediately after the
storm, working with state emergency management officials,
the mayor of Americus, and local authorities to assess
the damage and coordinate an effective response. We have
mobilized one of our Disaster Relief Units, a
tractor-trailer filled with supplies such as plastic
sheeting, construction equipment, and building materials.
Our team is also bringing three front-end loaders to
remove trees and other debris from affected areas.

Samaritan's purse was requested and did respond to Americus,
Georgia on March 1st. Mayor Barry Blount requested our
assistance and described the needs as being great. The
majority of work needing to be done will involve tarping
homes, cutting trees and debris removal. We have local
volunteers from Americus and Albany ready to assist and
our volunteers from GA and FL are on standby. Once the
base is established we will begin receiving the volunteers.
We have already received work orders from families requesting
assistance.
