This facility will shelter folks under emergency natural catastrophe circumstance and is a STANDBY shelter for evacuee's.
This facility is for female victims of domestic violence.
8/3/06: Facility has 24 beds designated for women/children that are victims of domestic violence and 16 beds for troubled teens. They are also at times a Maternity Home. During Katrina they sheltered 53 people. Most were transfers of elderly from Nursing Homes in New Orleans. They are in great need of a generator to power their ability to get water from the two wells on their property in the event of a disaster. They have plenty of food in their pantry but evacuee's should bring their own bedding, hygiene and non perishable foods to sustain themselves for one week's time. They are also in great need of a Grant Writer and lost most of their staff as a result of Katrina.
