Notes

South Central Alabama Mental Health Center employs 130 staff
members and is certified by the Department of Mental Health /
Mental Retardation. South Central is a comprehensive community
mental health center serving Mentally Ill, Mentally Retarded,
and Substance Abuse consumers for Butler, Coffee, Covington,
and Crenshaw Counties. Andalusia is the Main Center for South
Central and houses Administration, Business and Clinical Offices
as well as Outpatient and Day programs. The Board also operates
the Montezuma Facility, a 25,000 square foot facility, now
undergoing renovation following a severe blow from Hurricane
Ivan on September 16, 2004. The Board’s Annual Public Meeting
is held on the third Thursday of October at the Main Center.

A counselor is on call 24 hours 7 days per week and can be reached
