Notes

We have recently compiled an equipped team of trained men
and women that has come together for one purpose: "To make
a difference for Jesus Christ in Disaster Response." We are
willing to sacrifice our time and effort to see this goal
accomplished so that we can make an impact for the Church
of the Nazarene and for the Kingdom of God.

NAZARENE DISASTER RESPONSE (NDR). A denominationally
supported network of disaster volunteers, assisted by
trained district, regional, and national leaders who
cooperate with other national, state and local agencies
to respond to victims of natural and human-made disaster.

PRESENT NEEDS

Updated: Saturday March 31, 2007 05:10 AM

TARPS are being supplied by FEMA and some governmental funds
will assist in other expenses.

Clean-up is being completed by area residents and the city of
Enterprise as well as volunteer assistance.

There are many trees that need to be cut and removed from the
neighborhood, but they can only be removed my professionals
due to the location and size of many trees still standing.
Equipment such as lifts, Bob Cats, and tree climbing equipment
are needed.

THERE IS A NEED FOR TEAMS THAT HAVE EXPERTISE IN TREE REMOVAL
AND HAVE THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT SUCH AS CHAINSAWS, TREE CLIMBING
EQUIPMENT, AND A BOB CAT. Contact Mark Berry for more information
at 334-702-7305 or 792-6974. Leave a message on the answering
machine if I am not available.

Other community homes have been hit as well; therefore, we
will assist in the neighborhood as we ask and are invited.

WE ARE WORKING IN COOPERATION WITH NVOAD (National Volunteer
Organizations Active in Disaster). They are stationed adjacent
to the Methodist Church, 202 South Edwards Street (334)347-1011

You are welcome to take a team but when you check-in you will
need to write somewhere on the volunteer sign-up sheet that you
are part of Nazarene Disaster Response (NDR). .

Call Pastor Mark Berry at (334) 792-6974 or (334) 702-7305 or
Charles Martin, ALERT coordinator, at (334) 546-6892 or Tim
Campbell, District NDR Director, at (251-621-0543 if you are
able to help or want to send a team.

A project has been started by Rev. Freddie Lindsey. It consists
of building a home from the ground...up. This individual did
not have insurance. All areas of expertise are needed. You can
contact Freddie Lindsey at flindsey@frontiernet.net or Mark Berry.

There are many homes that did not have insurance. These will be
the homes we will focus on as names are given by NVOAD. Some
homes will have to be leveled while others will need major
reconstruction.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE INCLUDED ON A LIST SO THAT YOU CAN BE
CONTACTED AS NEEDS ARISE, SEND AN EMAIL WITH YOUR NAME, ADDRESS,
AND CONTACT INFORMATION. We will contact you as a need comes to
our attention. Please share with us what type of work you or
your team have knowledge of. e.g. Carpenter, electrician, etc. dothanfirstnaz@yahoo.com

VOLUNTEERS ARE BEING DIRECTED TO THE NVOAD VOLUNTEER SITE
adjacent to the Methodist Church, 202 South Edwards Street
(334) 347-1011. When you check-in you will need to write
somewhere on the volunteer sign-up sheet that you are part
of Nazarene Disaster Response (NDR).
