Notes
An immediate effort has been started through the Sunflower
Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Area, Inc. in
cooperation with Kansas Conservation Partners to collect needed
items (new and/or used) and charitable donations for the
Greensburg area tornado survivors.
According to Bill Hunter, president of the Sunflower RC&D Area,
Inc., Harper, items requested are:
-12- to 20-gallon sized covered plastic storage containers/totes
-work gloves in men's medium through extra-large sizes
-any size waterless hand cleaner
-strapping or packaging tape
The RC&D Council will be working with and through the local
conservation districts offices and others to receive donated
items and then shuttle them to the relief area for distribution.
The items can be dropped off at your local conservation district
office in the Sunflower RC&D area as well as at the RC&D office.
Drop-off points are open between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Additionally, tax deductible donations to Sunflower RC&D Area,
Inc. for the Greensburg Area Relief Fund will also be accepted.
The Sunflower RC&D Area, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit
organization comprised of a network of community volunteer
leaders from eight south central Kansas counties. The RC&D
Council assists local people by helping provide the
opportunity to work together for planning and implementation
of projects which solve problems and improve the areas of
economy, environment and standard of living. For more
