UPDATE/GREENSBURG, KS ANIMAL DISASTER RELIEF SUPPLIES 5/27/07:

Donna Law with Mutts & Mutts is coordinating donations that will be
transported to Pratt County Humane Society in Pratt, KS (sheltering
Greensburg, KS rescued animals). The final date for donation gathering
in MI is 6/9/07.

Donna has already shipped a load of:

Animal Vitamins/Supplements
Stuffed Animals

She is working with Wolverton Inc. (Brent Catlett/Distributor for
dog food/supplies) to ship the in-kind donations from Michigan to
Evansville, IN. Once in Evansville, The Hunte Inc. (Ryan Boyle from
The Hunte, Inc. will use one of his trucks or pay for a carrier) to
get it into Pratt, KS. All in-kind donations will be palletized and
ready for truck transport.

All deliveries are being coordinated with board members at the
Pratt Humane Society. Despite reports that they "do not need
any more supplies", they now have a semi-trailor to store items,
and any overage will go to Pets for Pets in Pratt, KS (They have
100 cats and 100 dogs). There are plenty of items that are a going
to be a continuing need for months to come.

I provided Donna with an updated list of needs from The Wichita
Eagle a couple weeks or less ago.

She is also gathering plus sized clothing for distribution to Greensburg
residents. I have it on authority from several churches (and Donna
will call first) that they are NOT in need of general clothing but
plus size clothing is hard to find.

Mutts and Mutts Rescue League is a non-profit 501 C-3 organization
founded by a husband and wife team, dedicated to serving the animals
since 1997.

Our mission is to provide a safe haven for unwanted animals, and to
provide those animals with forever homes through adopt-a-pet events.
We educate the public about the importance of spaying and neutering
to help reduce the animal over-population, and help low-income people
in Detroit with our outreach program by helping provide dog and cat
food, dog houses, hay, and finding low-cost spay and neutering programs
these families. We are not a shelter - our animals are fostered in
homes before they go to adopt a pet sites to be adopted.

OUR WISH LIST:

While there are many things we need, the list below covers those
things we can always use, and those that are the most pressing
needs.

-blankets, rugs and towels - used ones are just fine
outside dog kennels
-used wood privacy fence panels
-dog/cat crates for showing the animals at adopt a pet sites
-dog/cat canned and dry food is always needed
-leashes and collars - used are fine, all sizes, dogs and cats
-dog houses for our outreach program digital camera for photos
-of animals (preferably something that can be used at off sites,
without needing to be attached to a computer) newspapers bleach
-phone cards Costco or Sam's Club gift certificates Help paying
for license and insurance for a van that was recently donated
to Mutts and Mutts.

We exist solely on donations and volunteers. Monetary donations are
always welcome and may be tax deductible too - see your accountant
for more info.

If you're interested in helping with our adoption days, or in
fostering animals, please contact Donna for more information.

Long term, we'd like to create a sanctuary - a place where rescued
animals can be brought on a moment's notice, and where they can stay
long term if they are older animals or in need of long term medical
care before their adoption.

Donna has been boarding a couple dogs for a soldier stationed in Iraq.
Ultimately she'd like to provide this service in an expanded way.
