Notes
Rita Recovery is a volunteer organization helping families recover from Hurricane Rita. It has been twenty months since Southeast Texas was devastated by Hurricane Rita. We still have more than seven hundred families on our waiting list.
We have been so fortunate to have volunteer teams come from all over the country! So far, at Rita Recovery, we are happy to announce that we have helped more than 268 families move back into their homes. We still have over 700 families to help, and our waiting list continues to grow. As this list of people from all over Southeast Texas grows, we plead for your help more than ever. We need people to help us in every aspect of our volunteer services ranging from rebuilding people's homes to praying.
"Repair Blitz"
If you are a United Methodist Church within the South Central Jurisdiction, we are looking for YOU! We are organizing a "Repair Blitz." We are asking for teams within the Jurisdiction to participate in the Blitz to be held September 9-29, 2007. We want teams to come to Southeast Texas to assist in repairing homes for families who will not recover from Hurricane Rita without help. If you are interested in bringing a volunteer team go to:
