Notes
In the event of a hurricane, the county's Command Center
for Resources and Communication will be at Robstown in the
Fairgrounds. With easy access to highways, the Robstown Mayor
said it's a perfect location for such a large facility.
"Over 80,000 square feet of storage or warehouses they can
use," Robstown Mayor Rodrigo Ramon Jr. said, for everything
from food and supplies to rescuers and equipment.
By Monday, the county hopes to have a clearer idea of Dean's
path. Judge Neal said they'll open up the emergency operations
center at 7 a.m. From there, they'll decide whether to evacuate.
The Regional Fairgrounds is located at the intersection of US
Highway 77 and Texas Highway 44. US 77 runs from Brownsville
to the Canadian border and Texas 44 runs from Corpus Christi
to Laredo, TX
