Notes

Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico has been serving New Mexico’s hungry since 1980 and is the leader in creating solutions to end hunger in New Mexico. Since its inception twenty seven years ago, Roadrunner Food Bank has distributed more than 150 million pounds of food. That’s equal to 5000 transfer truckloads of food.

Roadrunner Food Bank solicits, collects, and transports approximately 14 million pounds of food yearly. Roadrunner Food Bank distributes the food through a statewide network of over 700 emergency food pantries, group homes, low-income day care centers, shelters, soup kitchens, and six smaller, regional food banks. In turn, these organizations provide emergency food boxes, group meals, and direct distribution to approximately 240,000 low-income people each year.

Roadrunner Food Bank provides food, water and other supplies in local and national disaster relief efforts. This spring, in response to the devastating tornadoes in Clovis, Roadrunner Food Bank sent 100,000 pounds of food to the Eastern New Mexico Food Bank. In August 2006, Roadrunner Food Bank provided emergency food to 450 families affected by flooding in Hatch, Alamo, Socorro, and Laguna, New Mexico.
