VOAD (Northern California)

Northern CA VOAD (NorCal VOAD)

Northern CA VOAD (NorCal VOAD) is Northern California's
branch of NVOAD. NorCal VOAD meets quarterly in Oakland.
Meetings are open to all interested agencies and
organizations. Meetings typically include one or more
presentations by subject-matter experts, committee
reports, and a round-robin so each organization can
report on recent activities.

NorCal VOAD is led by an elected Executive Committee of nine
members who serve staggered terms of three years each. The
Executive Committee selects its own officers - President,
Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer - who serve for one
year.

Hurricane Katrina

Following Hurricane Katrina, thousands of California volunteers
from VOAD member organizations were deployed to the Gulf region
to assist with relief operations.

Evacuees in California

As of December 16, 2005, more than 17,000 Katrina evacuees were
estimated to be in California.
