Welcome Message from the Volunteer Coordinators
http://www.edola.org/odr_volunteer_main.php

Thank you for your interest in volunteering in the diocese of
Louisiana! The Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana's Office of Disaster
response is focused on helping families and individuals who have
been affected by hurricanes Rita or Katrina work through a recovery
plan. Part of that plan often includes a need for volunteer help.

Here you will find information you need to volunteer in the disaster
relief efforts of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana.

We are grateful beyond words for the efforts that so many have put
forth in organizing volunteer groups coming to Louisiana. It is
because of caring groups and individuals like you that so many
hurricane victims are able to begin to rebuild their lives. This
process of relief and recovery will be going on for quite some time.
We need your help!

After reviewing the information on our web site,
(which includes: Volunteer Team Information, Volunteer Team Housing,
Youth Volunteers, Volunteer Opportunities, Volunteer Guest Book &
Points of Interest) if you have any questions about volunteering,
please contact ODR's volunteer coordinators via email or phone
(504-895-4304).

Thank you!

Case Management

The Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana's Office of Disaster Response
currently is providing case management services to individuals and
families affected by hurricane Katrina. The program provides for
individual case managers to help individual families resolve the
complicated problems and needs they face preventing long term
recovery.

Our case managers are trained to support as well as to empower
hurricane survivors to take control of their own recovery plan.
The process includes linking the clients to the benefits, providers
and services needed to assist them in their recovery.
Anthony Johnson
Director of Case Management

The Office of Disaster Response case management program will be
located at five sites in the city of New Orleans. The following
site locations and the names of our case managers are listed at:

CASE LOAD MAY BE FULL AT THIS TIME... call for details!!

Donated Goods

Donated items play a vital role of our recovery efforts. Every dollar
saved by using donated items is a dollar more towards our recovery.
The Office of Disaster Response responds to many needs. Our
ministries include free Medical Care (St. Anna's Mobile Medical
Unit), house gutting and rebuilding, distributing food and basic
supplies (Mobile Respite Unit and Mobile Loaves and Fishes), and
case management for returning families.

Each of these ministries has unique needs. Below is a list of needs
for each ministry. These lists are updated from time to time to
properly reflect our needs.
