Somebody Cares Tampa Bay

Somebody Cares Tampa Bay is a network of independent, community based non-profit agencies providing outreach support to Tampa Bay Ministries who assist poverty-stricken families and the working poor. SCTB works in concert with local ministries to provide the basic necessities of life and to educate and develop healthy, self-sustaining communities, families and individuals.

Hunger Strike Force is a program designed to bring thousands of pounds of food into the Tampa Bay area to help feed the hungry. Our role at Somebody Cares Tampa Bay is to raise money from private and public sources to pay for the transportation costs of this donated food. We receive the truckloads of food, unload it at our distribution site, and then provide it to ministries – at no cost – who use the food to feed the hungry.

With each Hunger Strike Force delivery, approximately 30,000 pounds of food is distributed through our expansive network of partnering organizations. Somebody Cares Tampa Bay pledges $2000 towards the solvency of the Hunger Strike Force’s nationwide transportation program each time they arrive in the Tampa Bay area. One truckload of food can provide 1900 families, or nearly7500 individuals, with meals. This equates to feeding a minimum of 25,000 people per month, or 270,000 annually.

With the new addition of the SCTB Marketplace, we will be able to feed even more families and save them even more money.
If you would like to help us keep the food trucks rolling, call 727-536-2273

If you run food pantry and would like to learn how you can receive a portion of the food, call (727) 536-2273 for an application. You must be a 501(c)3 to participate
