Catholic Charities, Diocese of Camden will work with the Diocesan Office of Long Term Recovery (DOLTR) in Gulfport, MS to coordinate volunteer efforts in Mississippi.
The information below was compiled by the Diocesan Office of Long Term Recovery, DOLTR, in Gulfport in order to give you a brief overview of what you can expect if you decide to volunteer to assist the Hurricane Recovery Efforts in Mississippi. Unlike New Orleans, which is still very much in need of volunteers to gut and clean homes, Mississippi has moved into the rebuilding phase and is in need of skilled volunteers to hang drywall as well as to do electrical and plumbing work.
The Diocesan Office of Long Term Recovery leases the Dedeaux Retreat House from Sacred Heart Parish to house our volunteers.
