IAM CARES, Inc. Center for Administering Rehabilitation and
Employment Center – This center in Pascagoula, Mississippi
enables women veterans in Southern Mississippi to receive
training in non-traditional occupations in the ship building
industry. IAM CARES is a private non-profit affiliate of the
International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
The Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) provides
funding for this unique training opportunity under the Veterans'
Workforce Investment Program. The program has successfully
operated for the past two years with an 89 percent placement
rate of women veterans.
