- Mission
- The San Diego County Medical Society (SDCMS) shall unite with similar societies in the state of California to form the California Medical Association (CMA). SDCMS shall act independently as well as jointly with CMA to promote the science and art of medicine, the quality care and wellbeing of patients, the protection of the public health, the betterment of the medical profession, and the adjudication of ethical relations to its members, as well as the provision of education to its members in scientific, social, legal, and medico-economic aspects of medical practice.

Physicians who whish to donate healthcare items or who are in need of such items are asked to send us an email at webmaster@sdcms.org with their information. Donated items will posted on this section of our website (link below) along with each donators contact information.
Please note: SDCMS will not be physically collecting donations. We are merely acting as a clearinghouse to help donated items get to the people who need it most.

The San Diego County Medical Society is collecting information for available doctors.
If interested, please email your full name, whether you are SDCMS Member, the geographic areas you can help in, your specialty, the best contact number for you, and your email address to volunteer1@volunteersandiego.org with “DOCTOR” in the subject line. Someone from SDCMS will contact you if your services are needed.
Old STATUS reports: Specific San Diego Medical Information
* All hospital emergency departments have beds available for patients.
* Fallbrook and Pomerado hospitals remain closed.
* The UCSD burn unit is reserving four intensive care unit (ICU) beds for burns and may divert ICU trauma patients for this reason. Trauma patients are being accepted but are being evaluated by the on-call trauma surgeon on a case-by-case basis.
* The following community clinic sites are closed: Borrego Medical Center, Julian office; Family Health Center, Grossmont (may open today); Indian Health Council, Rincon; Mountain Health and Community Services, Alpine and Jacumba; Neighborhood Healthcare, all sites closed except El Cajon and Temecula; North County Health Services, Ramona; Planned Parenthood, Escondido, Carlsbad; Southern Indian Health Council, Alpine, Campo.
* The status of medically fragile evacuees at the Qualcomm Stadium shelter is currently dependent upon facility readiness: 125 evacuees are to be sent to the Remington Club Health Center in Rancho Bernardo. 85 evacuees are to be sent to Villa Monte Vista in Poway.
