MRE's Available Free Through FEMA Baton Rouge, LA. Posted by: "Jenni" lifeontwofeet@gmail.com inchainsforchrist Fri Nov 16, 2007 3:37 am (PST) FEMA has 250 truckloads of MRE's (Meals-Ready-to-Eat)
and an unknown quantity of bottled water in a warehouse in Baton
Rouge, LA.
Their lease on said warehouse ends in mid-December, 2007. They are
giving
it all away to any one who wants to come and get it. Here are the
details:

= MRE's:

+ Palletized. 48 cases per pallet, 12 meals per case for a
total of 576 meals per pallet

+ Twelve different kinds of meals (spaghetti & meat balls,
etc.)

+ MRE's are self-heating.

+ Official expiration date is from two months to one year from
now. However, they should
last longer if kept in a climate controlled facility, as
they have been by FEMA.

= Bottle Water:

+ I know very little about the bottled water.

+ Presumeably palletized.

+ Has already reached the official expiration date. However,
FEMA says that ti should
still be good for up to another 7 years beyond the
expiration date provided it
is kept in a climate controlled space as FEMA has done.
I'm personally not so
sure about 7 years, but another year or so is quite
possible.

= Shipping, etc.:

+ You make take as little as 1 pallet or as much as 250
truckloads. :-)

+ The recipients are responsible for their own pickup and
transportation of these items.
FEMA will NOT arrange shipping or pay for it.

+ Details for pickup, etc., can be arranged with Monique
Boudreaux (see contact info
below). Her e-mail is Monique.Boudreaux@dhs.gov.

+ All items must be picked up by no later than December 10,
2007.

Any questions about this matter should be directed to Monique
Boudreaux
(see contact info below). Her e-mail is Monique.Boudreaux@dhs.gov.
