Notes
11/30/07 UPDATE:
Spoke to Bob Holgren/Dir. of Disaster Recovery/Assistance Ops.
600 homes destroyed in the Ramona area.
The PRIMARY MOST URGENT NEED is TRAILERS and AFFORDABLE HOUSING
for burned out residents. Currently, they are staying with family
& friends and cannot afford high rents. Insurance process and debris
removal is moving slowly.
Red Cross was feeding 1500 meals but pulled out last week.
They have a kitchen but currently only have the capacity to feed
dinner once a week on Mondays. They would like to expand the days
meals are available to fire survivors and the homeless community
of Ramona.
They are distributing:
Furniture
Gift Cards
Financial Assistance
Food
Clothes
Tools
Volunteer Needs:
Debris Removal Teams
Some kitchen help (will need more if they expand the days dinner is served)
