Notes
June 2010: TF: Their website looks like they will still host a vol work group. But not much other activity in terms of recovery.
9/4/08 LTel:
Spoke to Pastor Seay. Their parish experienced a few major hits with roofs being damaged but nothing widescale as a result of Hurricane Gustav.
The church is at least 1.5 hours from any damaged Gustav locations and there is no plan to be involved in clean up/repair/rebuilds for those areas.
They are NOT and never have been and have no intention of being a public shelter for any hurricanes or other natural disasters. Periodically they have sheltered church members during storms.
Pastor Seay was in a recovery meeting for his parish last week and the consensus was that this Parish has about one more year to complete recovery efforts from Hurricane Rita. Volunteers are still needed to assist in that recovery.
They receive their work orders for Hurricane Rita damage through United Methodist Storm Station (locally).
This facility is wide open with volunteer spots with no booking out.
