Monetary donations should be forwarded to Catholic Charities, c/o Disaster Relief, 1229 Mount Loretta Avenue, Dubuque, IA 52003. CC is working in partnership with the Parkersburg area communities and channeling financial resources through the Holy Family Cluster to assist residents affected by the tornado. Our primary role is that of coordination and we refer people to the federal emergency managency agency (FEMA) for property damage assistance, to state, county, and other disaster relief organizations such as the Red Cross for emergency assistance. Parishes often provide immediate shelter, food, clothing, etc along with other denominations and the Red Cross. We also refer volunteers to a local contact group for coordination of volunteer work.
