Lenny Breaux is checking with academic department heads as to current material needs. Will check with IT director regarding requirements for technology. Generally, they use Windows 98 and up.
Most schools are functioning well now, with relatively small classes. High Schools and junior high are housed in temporary buildings as new bldgs are being built.
----
St. Tammany Parish includes 52 schools, many of which are doubled up now. There is little storage room available and no central receiving. To donate materials, please contact Ms. Arrowsmith, who chairs the donations committee and can direct donations to where they are needed.
To e-mail enquiries about donating, write assistschools@stpsb.org
Cash donations can be made to the St. Tammany Parish School Board Hurricane Relief Fund, P.O. Box 940, 212 West 17th St., Covington LA 70433, or through any Hibernia National Bank branch.
If you would like to donate copy paper, a critical need, consider donating cash and allow the school to put it out to bid so that it can get a low price.
