At 10:00pm July 1, 2008 -- a mandatory evacuation order was issued for the Glen Annie and La Patera Canyons north of Goleta. Also, an evacuation warning has been issued for residents who live north of Cathedral Oaks between Glen Annie Road and Fairview Avenue. An evacuation warning means that residents should be prepared to evacuate.

At 11:59pm July 1 -- the Santa Barbara County Emergency Operations Center announced the opening of a Red Cross Shelter at San Marcos High School for both residents and animals.
