Notes
Corridor Recovery is a non-profit organization which was created to provide resources for local agencies to distribute flood-recovery information to the public in a critical time of need. When the flood-waters peaked, Corridor Recovery quickly became the primary resource for materials and information for Eastern Iowa communities.
Corridor Recovery continues to provide up-to-date information and resources to help the recovery process. Our goal is to provide help to local agencies, organizations, businesses and communities to rebuild and recover from the devastation, offering hope for a stronger future.

START July 19, 2010
Personal Possessions Replacement Program
Completed applications will not be accepted at City Hall or the Community Recovery Center.
Beginning July 19, 2010 program administrators will begin contacting applicants to discuss their application and request any additional information necessary to complete the program. Initial payments could begin in August 2010.
The Personal Possessions Replacement Program provides up to $10,000 in assistance to flood-impacted, owner-occupied households to replace personal possessions lost in the Flood of 2008. The program will reimburse for eligible purchases made to date and can make direct payments for large purchases to ease cash flow situations. This program is funded through Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) revenues as it is designed to match federal funds previously received for personal flood recovery. The program is expected to provide assistance to about 1,400 residents with approximately $10.5 million from LOST.
For more information about the program, please call AmeriCorps VISTA at (319) 540-4819. More details are available in the Flood Recovery Programs section of the City’s Web site at http://www.cedar-rapids.org/city-news/flood-recovery-progress/floodrecoveryprograms/personalpossessionsreplacement/Pages/default.aspx.

Serve The City update 7/2/08:
Serve The City, a continuing partner with Corridor Recovery, is transitioning from the disaster phase into the Long Term Recovery phase. Effective immediately we are wholeheartedly supporting Corridor Recovery as the new volunteer center is opened. We are handing off volunteer deployment to the community led resources of which we are a part. All volunteers that registered with Serve The City on a paper registration and wish to continue to volunteer should go to www.corridorrecovery.org and register. On behalf of those we were able to help, we extend a heartfelt ‘thank-you’ to every volunteer who has served their community in these first three weeks. Together, we will rebuild our communities.
Serve The City
Charles Daugherty, Executive Director
