Notes
PLEASE NOTE: Although this facility shows avails for supplies, these are strictly the ongoing types of items they have and will have on an ongoing basis. The availibility and numbers of items can change on an hour-by-hour, day-by-day basis. Our avail list provides you with a loose idea of what you can expect to be able to secure, but it's NOT a guarantee at any given time that it's going to be available. Thanks, Leslie Teltoe - CAT Volunteer

8/8/08:
Derri Hansen at the warehouse emailed me the Aid Matrix/VOAD registration form for the IA donation portal. If you have needs, or are a donor that would like to assist IA in their recovery, please contact me for the form and I'd be happy to assist you in getting signed up at: leslie@citizenactionteam.org
I also received a current inventory list for the warehouse. This of course changes daily so it's technically only as good as the moment. You can inquire directly by fax or phone call to get your own current inventory list.
Derri states they are staying quite busy. I'm in touch with multiple orgs that have no awareness of this warehouse that is serving the entire state so am trying to get the word out so that everyone is served.

7/9/08 Spoke to Derri Hanson:
For Distribution Sites/Volunteer Camps in need of supplies from this warehouse that is supplying the entire state of IA, this is how it works:
They have two fax lines. Groups/orgs/churches, etc. that are distributing supplies to folks impacted by the floods can fax a request and
the Adventists will FAX YOU BACK an order sheet and a list of what they have
that is currently available.
You can fax them at: (515) 963-9962 or (515) 963-9961 (Try both if one doesn't work - they've been having some trouble with phones).
The state of IA is supplying two trucks and they will have a route that they run once weekly. Coordination of delivery will be completed once your request is processed and approved.
They are excepting bulk donations of:
Furniture (gently used or new)
NEW Appliances only (from sm. to lg.) - They cannot maintain used stuff....just
too much volunteer effort required.
Food (URGENT CURRENTLY)
Cleaning Supplies (URGENT CURRENTLY) Bleach cannot be scented - can't be used in mud outs)
ANY kind of Disinfectant Cleaner
Rubber Gloves
Rubber Boots
N95 Masks
Laundry Detergent
NO USED MATTRESSES!! NO CLOTHING!! NO TOYS!! NO BOTTLED WATER!!
They are also accepting Building Supplies but have not had requests for
them yet. They will likely soon though as the phase of Long Term Recovery goes into place.
Right now, the warehouse is still in opening transition. They did secure 4
forklifts and have 8 loading docks. But, they still don't have their racks
and they had to turn away a large donation that was to come today because
the racks aren't set up yet.
They do have the ability though and every intention to empty their very large capacity warehouse out and fill it back up just as fast as they move supplies out.

Per concall 7/1/08, Pastor Steve Shaw who is overseeing this operation has moved the warehouse to Ankeny and effective 7/1/08 they were operational (just waiting for a forklift and some office supplies). On 7/1/08 a load of Cleaning Supplies was coming in. The Dike warehouse operation was shutting down and being turned over to FEMA to use the warehouse space to store FEMA trailers for IA residents. The Ankeny warehouse is NOT open for public distribution.
