Mission
The mission of the Humane Society of South Mississippi is advocate for the prevention of suffering of South Mississippi animals, provide the highest quality services and compassion to the animals entrusted to our care, reduce companion animal overpopulation and increase the save-rate of animals in our community, and promote the bond between animals and humans.

We are a non-profit organization chartered in 1952

The HSSM is now located at the corner of Hwy 49 and 27th Street, just one block north of Pass Rd. as of March 2006

Hours of Operation:

Adoptions: Sunday-Saturday from 10:00a.m.-5:30p.m.
Pet Surrender/Lost & Found: Sunday-Saturday from 10:00a.m.-5:30p.m.
Clinic: Monday-Friday from 7:30a.m.-5:30p.m.
Thrift Shop: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00a.m.-5:30p.m.

We will not let the approach of another hurricane season and the threat of a storm turn into another tragedy. Harrison County High School in Gulfport, MS will be a safe place of refuge for those pet owners with nowhere else to go.
