Notes

7/27/10 From the facebook page:

Last Saturday, North Valley Animal Disaster Group held a volunteer drill involving the mock evacuation and relocation of 50+ animals from BHS. Fire season is here and we all need to be prepared - check out NVADG's website for more information and a guide to preparing all members of your family (fur-faced and otherwise) in case disaster strikes

--------------------------------------------

From the website:

July 8, 2008: The Concow Fire has taken a turn for the worse causing the Butte County Sheriff's Office to issue an evacuation advisory for Concow and Yankee Hill area residents.

All evacuating residents may take their companion animals to:

Las Plumas High School at 2380 Las Plumas Ave. in Oroville.

Large animals may be taken to the Chico State University Farm at 311 Nicholas C. Schouten Lane directly off Hegan Lane.

Evacuees from Paradise may take their companion animals to the Neighborhood Church in Chico at 2801 Notre Dame Blvd.

Our focus is assisting in the evacuation and sheltering of animals during a large disaster. If you are forced to evacuate and need a place to shelter your animals, we can help. If you are not home when a disaster strikes and you need someone to enter an area that has been evacuated, we can help get your animals out. Contact us now at (530) 895-0000.

The North Valley Animal Disaster Group is not a government funded agency. There are no paid employees. We do not have a permanent Animal Shelter. Apart from our public education department, we only provide sheltering and evacuation services during a large disaster. To arrange a public education presentation, or for help during a large disaster, please contact our Hotline at: 530-895-0000
