6/24/08: Local Assistance Center Moves To Paradise
The Butte County Local Assistance Center at the Southside Community Center for victims of the Humboldt and Ophir fires will close at 5 p.m. today and be re-established at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Paradise Intermediate School, 5657 Recreation Drive, Paradise. The center will remain in Paradise through Friday, with operating hours each day of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A variety of local and state agencies are represented in the center, which was established by the Board of Supervisors to help area residents who were displaced, suffered property losses, or suffered economic losses during the Butte County Fire Storm.
The center was initially to remain open until 7 p.m. today, but was closed early due to a scheduling conflict.
