From www.2008flood.org posted 11/23/08:

Pay it Forward Ministries and the Salvation Army has moved in together for operations in the recovery process of Henderson County. They are both located at 111 south 6th street in Oquawka IL.

After a thorough need assessment of the county residence’s still impacted by the flood we have several immediate needs.

1.) As we start to face some winter months ahead. Most of the flood victims are still in a rebuilding phase. This means that some do not have any source of heat, and some are without shelter.

2.) Most warm clothing was either destroyed or has already been given away to victims.

3.) The food pantries are being overwhelmed and are running low on all supplies. For this we are asking for any and all help to replenish our disaster relief.

Needed supplies are:

1.) Winter clothing

(coats are a priority)

2.) Boots

3.) Gloves

4.) Food

(ranging from meat to can goods)

5.) Building supplies

(insulation, drywall, screws, nails, doors, windows, furnaces)

6.) Laundry detergent

7.) Dish soap

8.) Blankets

9.) diapers

All donations are tax deductible that are given to either the Pay it forward Ministries or The Salvation Army.

Monetary gifts or gift certificates/vouchers are greatly appreciated

All gifts and donations can either be mailed to PO Box 204 in Kirkwood IL 61447

Or Dropped off at

111 south 6th street in Oquawka IL
