Notes
Pastor Larry Ficklin was responsible for starting Katrina's Kitchen in Long Beach, MS but turned it over to Greg Porter (still going strong with food distribution and preparing meals for the community - closing/stand-by July 31, 07).

----------------------
Currently housing volunteers in a dormitory on the top floor of the church AND PLANNING TO EXPAND WITH COTTAGES FOR HOUSING. Can house 140-200 plus volunteers and they have both men and womens showers as well as a laundromat. Voluntary donations accepted (and needed but not requird) for staying at their facility. A SUGGESTED DONATION OF $25/PERSON/DAY IS SUGGESTED BUT NOT REQUIRED.
Pastor Ficklin prefers contact by email please to coordinate volunteer projects at WORKTEAMS@GODSKATRINAKITCHEN.ORG OR lficklin@bellsouth.net . They are primarily working on gutting/rebuilding and in great need of skilled trades like roofing, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc. Would like volunteers to be able to commit to a minimum of one week or more if possible.
For folks in need of help with gutting/rebuilding, make contact with GOD'S KITCHEN, INC. ALL WORK PROJECTS ARE BEING ORGANIZED WITH THEIR VOLUNTEERS.
