8/22/06 Removed need/avail of volunteers...
OLD NOTES:
These folks take requests for workers and match up volunteers. If someone needs help pulling out carpet or cutting brush, call them. They'll put you on the list and when volunteers come in wanting to work, they will send them to you. There's a pretty steady supply of volunteers.
The location of their operation varies, as they move around as buildings become available. The government offices aren't habitable, so they were in the Church of Kings, and are now somewhere else temporarily.
Sheila from the Pastor's Resource Council is working with her. Sheila is coordinating where to send trucks of supplies. She says hold off on supplies right now until they catch up and figure out what to do with all the stuff. Week of 10/10 they'll start knowing what they need.
Terra's comment: seems like they've got too much stuff. Move on either into rural or poorer areas of Gulfport or choose another county to work on. Amy says, "Gulfport's pretty OK for now...areas worse off are East Buluxi and Long Beach and Pass Christian (sp?).
