CAN YOU PROVIDE HELP?

As we seek to come around the victims of this weekend's fires, we as a church, are banding together to provide support to those in need. If you are able to assist in any of the following ways, please contact Tanya Modica at tanyam@ylfc.org immediately:
Provide housing for displaced families

Providing supplies such as new clothing, food (only accepting gift cards) or financial assistance. You can make checks payable to "Friends Church" and put in the memo section: "Community Impact: Disaster Relief" and send those "Attention Tanya Modica."

-Provide Legal, Insurance, Counseling assistance
-Volunteer your time
-Provide us with information on families who have lost their homes

Gift Cards: Many victims need clothing, food, etc. We are accepting any type of gift card to help those in need. You can mail or drop gift cards off at the Church Office and send them "Attention: Tanya Modica."

Thanksgiving Dinner at the Summit House: We have had an overwhelming response of those of you who have offered to help with this dinner. THANK YOU! We are no longer in need of additional helpers in this area.

Putting Yard Signs around the city and at actual homes that have been lost. Here are the different ways you can be involved:

Groups: We would like to have people go out in groups with those who are able to help assess needs and console family members if they are on site, those who can put up the yard signs, and if possible, those who can take photos.

Individuals: We need people who can go out and place yard signs on corners and along streets to help get the word out to the community. **Those signs can be picked up at the church office (you will need a hammer and a staple gun). Please let us know by emailing us back the days/times you are available, your name, and contact information.

Flyers: We would like people to take a hand full of flyers and go to some of the surrounding Hotels/Motels and see if if they can hand them out to those families that might be staying there. The biggest part to emphasize would be the Thanksgiving Dinner we will be hosting next Wednesday, November 26th from 4:00-6:00pm on our church campus.

IMMEDIATE NEED: We are assembling Care Packages with the following stuff to be taken to homes:

Shovels
Gloves
Water
Box sifters
Masks
Snack bars

If you are aware of any individuals or families in need of counseling, please have them contact Ken Schemmer at kens@ylfc.org.

These are difficult times for everyone, with some devastated by the effects. It is in these times that it is so important for us to turn to our Father for the comfort, direction and peace so many are desperately seeking. We will all continue to lift this situation up in prayer and trust in the sovereignty of our Lord!
