VOLUNTEERS NEEDED -
Each winter the American Red Cross works with the City of Portland to operate a Severe Weather Emergency Warming Center for homeless individuals. The Emergency Warming Center is opened during severe weather events and provides a safe and warm location for individuals to be inside and not exposed to the elements and potentially freezing to death. In order for the Red Cross to operate the Emergency Warming Center we need volunteers!

To sign up and be available for the Emergency Warming Center interested individuals need to do the following.

1. Complete a volunteer application for the American Red Cross,
2. Schedule and attend an Emergency Warming Center Orientation.
3. Have reliable transportation and be available during severe weather events to volunteer at the Emergency Warming Center.

Emergency Warming Center Orientations are currently scheduled for the follow dates and times at the American Red Cross, 3131 N Vancouver AVE Portland, OR 97227. All orientations will occur in the Tillamook Conference Room on the second floor.
