Salesian Mission trip to New Orleans

The Salesians of Don Bosco will host a missionary trip to New Orleans
called "Salesian Hurricane Relief Project" from November 20 through
November 26. Approximately seventeen hard-working young adults have
given up their Thanksgiving break to come to Archbishop Shaw High School
to assist in the recovery effort throughout the Greater New Orleans
area. Those involved with be working with Catholic Charities, Habitat
for Humanity, and the American Red Cross to provide a helping had to the
devastated citizens of New Orleans. The young adults will be cleaning,
fixing, and repairing homes of families associated with the Salesian
ministries. The missionary trip will include six days of hard work that
will include prayer, mass and faith-sharing.

In addition to the labor intensive assistance, the Salesian Hurricane
Relief Project will provide Thanksgiving Dinner for families in the
community. If you are interested in joining the Salesian Hurricane
Relief Project and Archbishop Shaw High School for Thanksgiving Dinner
please call 340-6727 to reserve a seat. The Thanksgiving celebration
will take place on Thursday, November 24th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm in
Verrett Hall at Archbishop Shaw High School. Festivities will include
dinner, prayer, music and games for the children.
