AS OF 7:15PM, MONDAY, 31 AUGUST 2009…
…EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL IS OUT OF ANIMAL ACRES!
All of them have been moved to the main evacuation site (located in Palmdale, California).
Frank Allen (Animal Acres manager) has asked me to extend to all of you his sincere thanks and appreciation for those who showed up to help or who tried to show up to help.
I wish to extend that to those of you who stayed in touch with me in regard to helping spread the word, and oh so much more. My alerts could be only what I was given, so thanks for your patience.
All your contact information will remain on our Animal Acres Emergency Evacuation list for any future events.

8/29/09 - 8/30/09, PRESENT SITUATION / NOTES:
The strongest part of the Station fire burning in Angeles National Forest and La Canada Flintridge area is moving northwest of the park toward Acton, California, said Jennifer Sanchez of the U.S. Forest Service. [ANIMAL ACRES IS LOCATED IN ACTON]. Evacuations for some Acton residents are in place... Since it began 8/26/09, the Station fire has burned 35,200 acres and prompted mandatory evacuations of 10,000 homes, according to Forest Service.
8/30/09 - AUTHORIZED BY FRANK ALLEN, ANIMAL ACRES / Susie Kaufman, Evacuation Coordinator
A mandatory evacuation is underrway on the northeast side of Acton. Animal Acres has begun the evacuation process. Horses and donkeys are in the initial process of being moved from Animal Acres to Evacuation Site #2.
The following is still only POSSIBLE: The next to be moved will be cows, followed by sheep, goats, and pigs, then birds. They will be moved to Evacuation Site #1. I know nothing about the emus.

URGENT NEEDS FOR ANIMAL ACRES
• Trucks
• Trailers
• Pickup trucks with camper shells (for the birds)
• Carriers for the birds (chickens, turkeys, etc.)
• Large water bowls
• People good with herding (we don't want hysterics)
• Animal soothers
• Bedding
• Food
• Water hoses

• Interstate 5 North to Highway 14 North (Antelope Valley Hwy towards Lancaster/Palmdale)
• Take the RED ROVER MINE ROAD exit
• The short exit will curve hard to the right
• Take the first immediate LEFT (you will be on Ward Road, which is only a block in length)
• Ward Road dead-ends at ESCONDIDO CANYON ROAD
• Turn LEFT onto ESCONDIDO CANYON ROAD
• Animal Acres is the first farm on the left. Look for buildings with red tiled roofs and mailboxes in front of dirt driveway.
