Notes
Evacuations currently include: Meridian Hills in the City of Moorpark . Affected dwellings include neighborhoods south of Broadway Road, West from Walnut Canyon Road to Balcom Canyon Road as well as the unincorporated Area of Moorpark - Balcom Canyon to Happy Camp Canyon. Areas affected in the unincorporated Area of Fillmore include: the Bardsdale/Sespe Area.
All roads in that area are closed EXCEPT for people that need to go in and evacuate horses or need to get medication.
They must have proper ID to get past the roadblocks.
Road Closures include Highway 23 between Fillmore and Moorpark, and Walnut Canyon and Spring Road.
More than 400 firefighters are battling a fire that started south of Fillmore and is burning towards Moorpark.
The fire is currently at 6000 acres and growing.
Two firefighters have sustained minor injuries.
Additional firefighters, air tankers, helicopters, dozers and other resources have been ordered.
The Red Cross has set up an evacuation center at The Goebel Senior Center at 1385 E. Janss Road in Thousand Oaks.
Large animals are also being evacuated.
The Ventura Fair Grounds has opened to accept those displaced animals.
Small animals can go the Animal Regulation at the Camarillo Airport.
Fire officials say the fire was likely started when some manure spontaneously combusted.
