Katrina's Angels offers support to communities that have become affected by natural and man made disasters by offering solutions to address unmet needs. This forum was created to provide resource and other information in a timely manner and to list events supporting relief and rebuilding efforts around the United States. Included are: TIPS for using this forum.

Update 5/16/07 KA is now working in partnership with Operation Love Thy Neighbor to provide aid to the survivors of the floods in Aberdeen, SD and surrounding communities, as Greensburg, KS appears to have enough aid coming in at this time. We desperately need cleaning supplies and tarps, as well as financial donations so items can be purchased locally and we can save on shipping costs. Gift cards would be great!

Update 5/3/07: Katrina's Angels (KA) would like to aid the Village of Sun, LA, which we adopted in late 2005, by getting donations and assistance to rebuild what was once the village's only playground. The village coffers are empty. Donations of any playground equipment, sports equipment, basketball hoops, soccer goals, park benches, etc. would be greatly appreciated, along with any offers of volunteers to help with rebuilding. We consider this especially urgent as the current mayor, Barbara Gibson, is now battling breast cancer, and had promised the citizens of the village that she would get their park rebuilt.

KA could also use any donations of books or school supplies as we continue to aid the schools and children in need in the gulf states.

Update 1/4/07 Katrina's Angels is hosting a "Keep Toasty"
event this month: a collection of coats, hats, mittens,
sweaters, light jackets, anything to keep people warm.
Items must be shipped to specific collection points.

Update 12/3/06: The Katrina's Angels site has a listing of
housing. It seemed to focus on North Carolina, but there are
recent entries. Go check it out! Go to www.katrinasangels.org

Update 12/3/06: The KA case load is full. They are accepting no
new families. They thank everyone for their support in making this
holiday a success for all of their adopted families. (per Terra...

Katrina's Angels is a national volunteer effort that is
driven by the generosity of people wanting to make a
difference for others. We are registered in the State of
Florida and operating with a 501 (c)(3) non-profit status.
We are commited to providing solutions and resources to
displaced survivors and residents of areas that have
suffered as a result of natural disaster in the United
States. Our services include employment referrals, housing
referrals, direct relief and resource coordination.

Katrina's Angels was one of the first grassroots organizations
to respond to the needs by means of virtual partnerships and
volunteer efforts spread across the nation, and one of the
last remaining that is still operating actively in this
capacity. Long term recovery projections stand at a minimum
of ten years by experts and the support of volunteers, donors
and sponsorships are vital to enable us to continue to thrive
in our recovery and relief efforts. Together we can continue
to make a difference.
