- Mission
- The Lakeshore Area Regional Recovery of Indiana committee is created in accordance with the laws of Indiana with the purpose of coordination of disaster recovery in Northwest Indiana Planning District 1 as defined by the State of Indiana, including Lake, Porter, La Porte, Jasper and Newton Counties by sharing information, simplifying residents access to services and jointly resolving cases with natural disaster-caused needs.

Speciality: Rebuilding & recovery from flooding of 2008 Hurricane Ike (Sept.)
Description of volunteer needs: Skilled - framers, window/door installers, rough & trim carpentry, drywall - including mudding/taping, tile installation, roofing, crew supervision. Unskilled - willing to get dirty to muck and gut

Any additional notes: Over 22K homes affected, over 12K still need rebuilding & other help. 35 minutes from Chicago, 2 hrs. from Indianapolis; near many cultural events. Please come and help.
