Tuesday night in Dallas, TX, nearly 20,000 exotic animals were seized from an animal importer. Most animals were found without food or water and many will have to be euthanized. Latest reports have placed the numbers as high as 26,000.

The Hedgehog Welfare Society (www.hedgehogwelfare.org) a 501c3 organization, will be having a member drive down with supplies just after Christmas. She will be returning after the New Year with a large number of hedgehogs for fostering in this area at approved rescue stations. There are more than 800 hedgehogs involved in this seizure.

WE NEED TRANSPORT CARRIERS. If you have a carrier that would suitably hold hedgehogs to give or to loan, please contact me.

We also need other supplies like cat sized food bowls, ramekin style water dishes, 106 quart clear sterilite bins, small pet igloos (the large size), aspen bedding, Royal Canin Baby Cat food and other high quality kitten food.

We can also use fleece fabric, denim, corduroy or twill for snuggle bags and vellux blankets for hat liners and regular cotton fabric for hedgie hats. We will accept gift cards to Joann Fabric or Hancock Fabric, Walmart or Target.
