===========================================
Persevere is a 501(c)3 which organizes jobs for volunteers and provides the tools and skilled leadership to complete them. We do not house or feed volunteers but work with nearby organizations to do so. We have a work order system and will complete any job we have the tools and know-how to do. Persevere serves residents of any economic background, churches and other non-profit businesses. We focus our efforts in Pass Christian, Bay St. Louis, Waveland and East Biloxi, but will help out anywhere along the Gulf Coast. We also run a small tool bank available to volunteers and local residents
rebuilding.
Persevere Disaster Relief is a Massachusetts based nonprofit organization committed to assisting communities in the wake of extensive disaster. Through implementing various initiatives and projects that address changing and unmet needs, Persevere aims to both restore a sense of normalcy and improve the quality of life in the areas it serves. Those affected by disaster are faced with a seemingly insurmountable and overwhelming task of picking up the pieces and rebuilding. The focus of Persevere is to provide small solutions for each community member it comes into contact with, and in turn, give them hope for the future and a foundation to help them persevere.
Persevere has responded to three disasters since its inception in February 2006. While continuing our long term Katrina recovery project in Mississippi volunteers from Persevere assisted the communities of Lady Lake, Florida and Enterprise, Alabama clean-up after devastating tornados ripped through their cities. Both tornado response projects were short term but produced big results for the survivors we helped.
