Notes
11/12/10 LTel:
Per missionary Shae Hellman on site at Haiti Children's Home (HCH) , she Twittered today that the hospital behind their compound has a 'CTC' Tent set up (not confirmed if this is an official CTC though).
The childrens home is in need of stocking antibiotics sensitive to Cholera. They have two children infected with Cholera. One was treated and discharged, another still being hydrated with IV fluids.
ANTIBIOTICS NEEDED:
Ciprofloxacin: 35 people
Azithromycin: 33 people
They also need a volunteer Nurse on hand that can administer IV's for Cholera if it becomes necessary.
There is great concern that the 32 children are at high risk for contracting Cholera, many of who are physical special needs kids.
Please contact Melinda Smith (in charge) at: 3-837-1514

FROM THE WEBSITE:
UPDATE: January 20th
Haiti Children's Home was damaged during an after shock and was deemed unsafe by the U.N. The staff and kids are currently staying on the grounds of the orphanage. The UN is going to deliver tents which they can use for now. They have enough food and water for the moment. Melinda is working on getting the kids out of Haiti and into the States. Please cover them with your prayers and check back for further updates.
UPDATE Jan-20: The earthquake this morning did affect Mirebalais & Melinda said they were shook pretty bad. They've evacuated out of the building as they feel it's no longer safe. Everyone is doing fine; just a little upset. They have plenty of food. She's working very hard 2 figure out a plan & asked that everyone sit tight & wait for news. We're working n the best interest of all the children.
UPDATE Jan-14: Melinda has brought some people from Port-au-Prince to the orphanage for medical care, she is back in PaP right now. Jojo and Mathieu are safe and accounted for.
