FROM MICHAEL ANDREW - ON THE GROUND CONTACT:
Jan. 24th, 2010 visit from Michael - 60+ children, no contact with any aid agencies, they need the same stuff, milk, water, food, tents, medicines, diapers, etc- within walls, seems good security
----------------------------------------------------
Please pray for everyone in Haiti right now!
Delmas, the area of Port au Prince where PAC is, has been devastated by the Jan. 12 earthquake. Marie and the children were not harmed but the orphanage has sustained some damage. Half of Wall's Guesthouse directly across the street from PAC, where many of us adoptive parents have stayed, has collapsed, with lives lost!
What can you do to help ensure that Marie, the staff, and the children are able to sustain themselves through this tragedy? Please, do not gather donations of food or formula at this time. What she needs is MONEY to obtain these items herself in Haiti. It is likely with the reduction in availability of these items, prices will skyrocket.
----------------------
We are in the process of setting up a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to help the PAC recover, which will continue into the future to assure PAC children get the best care possible. Please go here, to pachaitifund.bbnow.org, and donate, we need to raise a lot of money as soon as possible, as resources run out for the children, Marie will need to seek out more sources.
Please tell your relatives, friends, churches, co-workers. Everything helps!

=============
In the wake of the recent earthquakes in Haiti, we are grateful that all of the children from Petits Anges de Chantal (PAC) are safe. We know that in the coming days, weeks, and months, the orphanage will need many supplies to care for the children and maintain their safety. Organizations around the world are trying to mobilize and get supplies to Port-au-Prince. We want to make sure that the children of PAC are taken care of.
All funds donated to PAC Haiti Recovery Fund will be used to improve living conditions for the children at the PAC orphanage in Haiti. This new website will allow supporters like you to make donations and also help spread the word on to your friends and family.
We have not yet achieved our 501(c)(3) status for tax deductible charitable donations, but given the recent earthquake, we wanted to get this up and running as soon as possible to try and do our part to help with the relief efforts.

Haiti is currently CLOSED to new adoptions by US citizens.
PLEASE NOTE: As of January 12, 2010, the day of the devastating Haiti earthquake governmental and legal procedures to process an adoption in Haiti have been impossible to carry out. Until further notice the best way to support the needs of the children in Haiti is to donate money to international aid organizations dealing with the disaster. Adoptions in Haiti cannot be processed according to Haitian or US law during the current emergency. Consult this page and the Haiti page at adoption.state.gov for up to date information about adoption from Haiti.
Joint Council is working with the U.S. government to determine the impact of the devastation on the adoption process. The coming days will be rightly focused on rescue efforts, it will take not weeks, if not months to fully assess the impact on adoptions and develop a plan to move forward with specific cases.
