The Foyer Des Filles De Dieu (Home of the Daughters of God) is devoted to providing orphaned, neglected, outcast, and vulnerable girls of Haiti who live in dehumanizing conditions a home, clothing, education, and healthcare in a nurturing and safe environment, instilling hope and encouragement to ensure they achieve their full potential.
-------------------------------------------
L' Hopital Notre Dame De Lourdes.
Initially, Ms. Thybulle opened a clinic in 1994 to ensure that the girls received appropriate medical care. The Clinic burgeoned swiftly as a result of the direct need of the surrounding communities’ inability to have access to medical care. The Clinic offered medical care in several specializations, including pediatrics, internal medicine, obstetrics, ORL, dentistry, and dermatology. The Clinic provided health care assistance to over 20,000 (between 1994 and 2005) individuals as outpatients only, due to lack of adequate facilities. Recognizing that many of these patients should have remained under Doctor’ observation to effectively treat their ailments, a small hospital was constructed beside the Orphanage in 2005. L’Hopital Notre Dames De Lourdes provides quality health care to poverty-stricken individuals for negligible fees. Dr. Guerlaine Laplanche, a podiatrist, serves as the Chief of Staff. Dr. Laplanche received her medical degree from L’Universite De L’Etat D’Haiti. However, she obtained her training in pediatrics from L’Hopital St. Vincent De Paul in France. Dr. Laplanche is assisted by six (6) other doctors, sixteen (16) nurses, two (2) laboratory technicians, two pharmaceutical assistants, two (2) admissions counselor, three (3) administrative assistants, and four (4) staff members. Dr. Laplanche is the only full time physician on staff, due to financial constraints. The other six (6) physicians are retained two to three times per week. However, to ensure that their patients receive quality health care, Dr. Laplanche has developed alliances with specialists in different fields. They are on call and oversee the treatment of patients in their respective fields. The mission staff of the Hospital is dedicated to making a substantial difference in the lives of individuals in this depraved community. L’Hopital Notre Dame De Lourdes is a small hospital with 21 beds which serves over 8,400 outpatients and 2,880 inpatients annually. Although the Hospital operates with limited funds and lack of critical medical equipment, administrative equipment, and medicine, it has saved countless lives and has been and continues to be a beacon of hope in the community. The Hospital affords desperately poor individuals an opportunity to seek and receive the medical treatment they need. - Service

2/8/10: Spoke to Najlah Thybulle stateside. The 4 pallets with medical supplies that are in FL still have not been shipped and the shipper has not provided a new invoice/price to get it to Haiti.
"The neighborhood is becoming more and more unsafe for the children. We were able to purchase some food/water on the black market but we cannot afford to continue doing that at this point".
Food/water/shelter has NOT arrived to serve this facility for 275 people (including 67 orphaned girls) from any NGO's on the ground.
CAT has not been able to secure any short term medical supplies solutions that will tide them over till these stateside supplies can reach them.

This site has received no aid/supplies. They currently have 9 pallets of Medical Supplies at a warehouse in Miami and need approximately $3-$4000 to get it shipped for the hospital. Currently, the shipper is modifying the invoice to see what the cost of getting at least 3 pallets over would cost so they can at least keep the hospital running for 1 month. The goal is to get all 9 pallets over so they can distribute aid to other medical facilities in critical need. This may take weeks, so on the ground aid is URGENTLY needed for their current immediate needs.
